The budget for a trip to Romania will vary a lot depending on transportation means and accommodation preferences. Eating out will cost you around 15 Euros in an average priced restaurant, with lower prices outside Bucharest. The national currency is Leu (RON), and even if you see many quotations online in EUR, you can only pay in RON in Romania. In most restaurants and shops, you can pay by card, but always have cash for entrance fees and farmers’ markets.

If you’re planning to visit attractions from different cities or regions, the best option is to rent a car. Traveling by train is a good option only if you have fast and direct connections like on the route from Bucharest to Brasov. Flying from one city to the other, for example, Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca or Bucharest to Iasi is the fastest option if you’re short on time.

According to Romanian law, it’s mandatory to publish on the travel agency’s website the tourism license and the insurance policy.
