Kind and helpful hosts are not easy to find. We can guarantee this is the real deal at Mara Guest House. Maria is a lovely and gentle person who will make your stay there truly special.
Many guests have mentioned how helpful and sweet Maria is and I absolutely agree. She has much useful information to give and is able to understand just what you are looking for personally. She and her husband's cooking is excellent, very tasty and plentiful regional fare. The grounds are wonderful and the views of the haystacks and farms beyond. It's also a few hundred meters off the main road and feels like an island unto itself, with the Mara river at the edge of the property and footpaths just beyond.
Read moreMaria and her husband serve excellent, tasty meals. Breakfast always had fresh dairy products: milk, cheeses, and during the spring fresh sheep's milk yogurt, along with homemade breads, excellent fruit preserves, and meats. Lunches and dinners included the best soups I've ever had. Each meal was exceptional and plentiful. The delicious desserts are made by Maria and are pastry shop pretty. Her husband is an accomplished chef who also makes his own aged cheeses. It was a totally magical experience.
